Prince Harry and Meghan are attending the UK Team Trials for the Invictus Games 2018, which will be held in Sydney in October, in Bath today. More than 450 UK athletes will compete at the trials today, for 72 spots in Team UK. The event takes place at the University of Bath Sports Training Village. Prince Harry is Patron (and founder) of the Invictus Games.
The Invictus Games will take place from 18 October until 29 October 2018 in Sydney, Australia. It is the Games’ fourth edition, after London in 2014, Orlando in 2016 and Toronto in 2017. The Invictus Games is the only international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick (WIS) servicemen and women.
First, the couple watched the trails on the field and track outside. They met with competitors.
After watching some of the sports outside, the Royal party went inside to see the sitting volleyball.
The Invictus Games hold a special place in the Prince’s heart. Apart from being its very passionate founder, it was during last year’s games in Toronto that he made his first public appearance with his then-girlfriend, Meghan Markle.
Meghan is wearing a casual outfit for the visit. She is wearing an Invictus Games polo (the women’s version of the polo prince Harry is wearing on the picture above, and today), a long olive jacket by Babaton for Aritzia and black jeans by Mother Denim.
It is expected that the couple will travel to Australia to attend the Invictus Games together in the Autumn. It may be their first official trip abroad after the wedding. Sources say that they might do a tour through Australia and New Zealand either before or after the Games. However, it is expected that the couple will be in the UK on October 12 for the wedding of Harry’s beloved cousin Eugenie with Jack Brooksbank.
